Communication Log
Keep a clear record of calls, emails, meetings and messages with your lawyer. This helps you track what was said, when, and what should happen next.
Entries are stored only on this device in your browser (local storage). A simple log like this is often relied on by the Legal Ombudsman when deciding what actually happened.
How this helps your case
Many complaints turn on disputed communication – what was said, promised, or explained. A calm, dated log helps you show:
- how often you had to chase for updates;
- when key advice or promises were made;
- patterns of delay, poor tone, or inconsistent explanations.
You can use this log together with:
- Timeline Tracker → – to align communications with key events and deadlines;
- Risk & Issue Log → – to link poor communication to specific risks or issues;
- Cost Monitoring Sheet → – to record what you were told about costs;
- Evidence Checklist → – when building a complaint;
- Complaints guide → and Complaint Letter Generator →.

Add a communication entry
Log each significant call, email or meeting with short, factual notes.
Tip: write as if an independent person will read it later. Keep emotion out and focus on dates, who said what, and any promises or deadlines.
